Making a Lasting Impact in June
June 30, 2025
This June, the Gulf Winds team has been busy giving back across our regions of service. From building a home with Pensacola Habitat for Humanity to connecting with seniors at the Alabama Area Agency on Aging, we’re dedicated to creating a greater impact and strengthening our partnerships.
Ronald McDonald House | June 5, 12, 18, 28
From homemade pizzas to a nacho bar, our team has provided nourishing meals to the families staying at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida (RMHC). The impact is immense when preparing a meal at RMHC, because it’s more than a meal it’s a sense of community and support.
Monroe County Public Library | June 6
The Monroeville team was honored to partner with Monroe County Public Library’s summer reading camp. Our involvement supported educational explorations with fossils, creative arts and crafts sessions, and enriching interactions such as a visit from the sheriff’s department and hands-on learning activities.
Senior Chill Out | June 6, 10
We joined our community partner Council on Aging of West Florida for their annual Senior Chill Out event. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to donate ACs and fans to keep our local seniors cool during the summer heat. Our team helped collect and sort through all the donations and we are truly proud to be part of such a giving community.
Wakulla Giving Hands | June 9, 25
Our team members over in Tallahassee spent time volunteering with Wakulla Giving Hands to amplify their mission of providing essential necessities to neighbors in need.
Manna Food Pantries | June 10, 17, 24
Gulf Winds team members dedicated time this month to volunteer with Manna Food Pantries, working collaboratively to sort and organize food donations for local families and individuals experiencing food insecurity. Together, we helped process hundreds of pounds of donations, turning community generosity into practical support for those facing challenging times.
ReadyKids! | June 10, 17
We were proud to sponsor and volunteer at ReadyKids! Kindergarten, Here We Come event, an initiative designed to help parents/caregivers, and their incoming kindergartners prepare for a successful transition to school. Our team was actively engaged in welcoming attendees and providing valuable resources to families as they navigated this important milestone.
The Retreat | June 11, 18
As an extension of Council on Aging, The Retreat serves as an adult day center in Pensacola. To create a more meaningful impact, our team has begun volunteering at The Retreat to assist with arts and crafts, general support, and creating a fun atmosphere for the clients.
Area Agency on Aging - Atmore | June 17
Our team had the opportunity to connect with our senior community at the Area Agency on Aging in Atmore, joining in a variety of activities and games designed to foster engagement and brighten spirits. Supporting programs like these reinforces our commitment to building lasting relationships and promoting well-being for all generations in our community.
Pensacola Habitat for Humanity | June 26
It was a privilege for our team to contribute to a Pensacola Habitat for Humanity home build. During the project, we took the opportunity to leave thoughtful notes of encouragement on the structural beams—serving as lasting reminders that the home is built upon a foundation of care, collaboration, and strong community support.
YMCA Donations | June 26
The Gulf Winds Foundation donated to the Brewton Area YMCA and Monroeville Area YMCA. These contributions support the YMCAs’ efforts to provide safe, engaging, and enriching environments where children can learn, grow, and thrive.
Your membership enables us to continue these initiatives, living out the credit union philosophy, People Helping People. Thank you for being part of our journey to give back and strengthen our community.
