The month of May brought new volunteer opportunities, creating a more meaningful impact for some of our longest standing partnerships. Gulf Winds continues to serve our members and community with integrity and care, building strong relationships and embracing the credit union philosophy of People Helping People

Pensacola State College Big Break

PSC Big Break Golf Tournament | May 1

For the past eight years, Gulf Winds has been honored to sponsor the Pensacola State College Foundation's Big Break Golf Tournament—an event that raises critical funds for PSC’s students and programs. Our team hosted a table and tent providing refreshments to the tournament players.

Pre-K Power Hour with ReadyKids! | May 6

Gulf Winds team members had the opportunity to mentor young learners and enhance their kindergarten readiness as part of our partnership with ReadyKids! Through their Pre-K Power Hour program, our team made an impact in the classroom by engaging in reading activities and games to prepare them for kindergarten.

Ronald McDonald House | May 8 & 22

Ronald McDonald House

Providing a warm meal is one of our team’s favorite volunteer opportunities. Because it’s more than just a meal; it’s a chance to show our support to families staying at Ronald McDonald House and give them one less thing to worry about.

Stamp Out Hunger | May 10

Gulf Winds teamed up with Manna Food Pantries to make a difference in the fight against hunger. We helped unload and sort food donations left by our generous community to be picked up by local letter carriers. With all donations staying local, together we helped our neighbors facing food insecurity — thank you!

Military Appreciation Picnic | May 16

Military Appreciation Picnic: We were honored to support our military community by sponsoring the Military Appreciation Picnic at NAS Whiting Field hosted by the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce. The day was filled with carnival games, food, and lots of appreciation for these brave men and women.

The Retreat | May 21

We expanded our support to our friends at Council on Aging through their senior day experience, The Retreat, which offers a full day of activities and social interaction. Our team hosted arts and crafts, engaging participants in a physical and thoughtful activity.

Pensacola Habitat for Humanity | May 22

While we specialize in building strong financial futures for our members, we also like to build strong homes too! We’ve committed to volunteering each month with Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s home build program.

Manna Food Pantries | May 22 & 27

Volunteering with Manna is always a rewarding experience, uniting to serve our neighbors in need by sorting through food donations which aids in preparation to pack meal bags.
