Equifax recently experienced a data breach that has potentially impacted 143 million Americans. As a consumer and a member of the credit union, we want you to be aware of this situation.
Equifax has set up a website at EquifaxSecurity2017.com where consumers can check to see if they may have been impacted and to enroll in one year of free credit file monitoring and identity theft protection.

How Gulf Winds uses credit reporting companies?
Gulf Winds uses information from Equifax, Experian and TransUnion to make credit decisions and review existing accounts. We also report loan repayment information back to these three credit bureaus.
Will the Equifax breach affect your application(s) in progress?
Gulf Winds will continue to process new and existing credit applications as normal. Equifax has indicated that they have found no evidence of unauthorized activity on their core consumer or commercial credit reporting databases.

Please continue to take proactive steps to monitor your financial, credit card, and retail charge accounts.
