Florida’s Tax Holiday Starts Friday

Florida's "Freedom Week" tax holiday begins Friday, July 1 and ends Thursday, July 7. During this time, sales tax will not be charged on a number of recreational activites and outdoor items.  The tax package was signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis on May 6, describing the tax holiday as a way that, "families can afford a fun summer." Here are all the things you can purchase with a tax break, including supplies for boating and water activities, camping and fishing gear, general outdoor items, and admissions to events

The first $25 of the sales price of...

  • Snorkels
  • Goggles
  • Swimming masks

The first $35 of the sales price of...

  • Pool floats/tubes
  • Inflatable chairs
  • Pool toys

The first $50 of the saales price of...

  • Safety flares

The first $75 of the sales price of...

  • Life jackets
  • Coolers
  • Paddles
  • Oars

The first $100 of the sales price of...

  • Individual pool and spa replacement parts like nets, filters, lights, and covers

The first $150 of the sales price of...

  • All residential pool and spa chemicals (purchased by an individual)
  • Water skis
  • Wakeboards
  • Kneeboards
  • Inflatable tubes or floats that can be towed

The first $300 of the sales price of...

  • Canoes
  • Kayaks

Camping and fishing supplies

The first $10 of the sales price of...

  • Bait or fishing tackle, if multiple items sold together

Admissions to Events

In addition to all of these items, the sales tax holiday also applies to admissions for many fun events! Some of these events can includ season tickets (noted by + below) and some events be held on any date(s) from July 1, through December 31, 2022 (noted by * below)!
