Safety is Our Top Priority
At Gulf Winds, our top priority is the well-being of our members, our employees and the communities we serve. We are closely monitoring the coronavirus disease (COVID–19) and are doing everything possible to keep our members and employees safe while providing continued access to your accounts and financial services.
Face coverings are required in our Leon County, City of Pensacola and Gulf Breeze branches, as mandated by the local governments. Face coverings are recommended but are not required at our other branch locations. Members may be asked to momentarily raise or lower their face covering to verify their ID. Please refer to CDC guidelines about the use of face coverings.
Gulf Winds will continue to monitor this evolving situation and follow the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for best practices.

The IRS has the most up-to-date information regarding the stimulus payments on their Payment Information Center website. They also have useful tools to track your payment status and to update your information to ensure you are receiving the payment.
You will qualify for a payment if you have an adjusted gross income of up to $99,000 as a single tax filer. Recipients of Social Security and railroad retirees are also eligible. Your adjusted gross income can be found on line 8b of the 2019 1040 federal tax return. If you haven’t filed your 2019 taxes, you can use the adjusted gross income on line 7 of the 2018 1040 federal tax return.
Individual filers earning up to $75,000 per year will receive $1,200. Those earning up to $99,000 will receive a reduced check. Married couples that file jointly with no children earning up to $150,000 will receive a total of $2,400, and those earning up to $198,000 will receive a reduced check. You’ll get an additional $500 for every child who qualifies. Use this calculator if you are unsure how much of a stimulus check you will receive.
No. If you’re eligible for the payment, then you will automatically receive a direct deposit or a check or prepaid debit card in the mail from the government.
If you received your 2019 or 2018 tax return via direct deposit, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will send your check via direct deposit. If you do not have direct deposit available, then you will receive a paper check or prepaid debit card in the mail. If you receive a prepaid debit card, call 800.240.8100 to activate the card or visit www.eipcard.com for more information.
Please note: Your EIP Card will arrive in a plain envelope from "Money Network Cardholder Services." The Visa name will appear on the front of the card, and the back of the card has the name of the issuing bank, MetaBank, N.A. The information included with the card will explain that the card holds your Economic Impact Payment.
The IRS will started depositing the first round of checks around April 15, 2020. Those who have not filed their 2018 or 2019 tax returns with direct deposit will be mailed a paper check or prepaid debit card starting April 24, 2020. Some paper checks and debit cards may not arrive until later in the year. We suggest using the IRS' Get My Payment tool to track the status of your payment. We currently do not have any further information on when stimulus checks will arrive.
The U.S. Treasury created an online portal where you can provide your banking information directly to the IRS. This way, you can receive your payment via direct deposit immediately, as opposed to waiting on a check or debit card in the mail.
No. Social Security recipients and railroad retirees are not required to file a tax return, and they will receive their payment directly to their bank account or by mail.

Guided by the credit union philosophy of People Helping People, Gulf Winds has donated $100,000 through the Gulf Winds Cares Program to combat COVID-19 and its many effects on our society.
Gulf Winds donated $65,000 to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola to help the hospital purchase personal protective equipment or PPE for its staff. This donation is equivalent to the cost of one month’s worth of supplies, under normal circumstances. Hospitals in Alabama received $8,000 to purchase PPE.
The remaining $27,000 went to first responders across our service area who were provided protective equipment including hazmat suits, N95 masks, cotton masks, gloves, cleaning products and over 100 gallons of hand sanitizer. The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office Community Fund requested $5,000 so they can provide meals to seniors in need.
