Gulf Winds is currently seeking a Mortgage AVP. This position is responsible for growing and managing a profitable real estate portfolio, and for successful administration of the servicing division. This position is also responsible to ensure regulatory and investor compliance.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

•  Directs daily operations of the Mortgage Loan Department; staffs divisions for maximum efficiency, coaches employees, conducts performance appraisals and recommends salary adjustments and/or promotions.

•  Takes a proactive leadership role in designing and implementation of new products.


•  Responsible for maintaining compliance with all investor (Fannie Mae, |Freddie Mac, FHA, PMI) guidelines to ensure the ability to sell loans when deemed necessary.


•  Responsible  for maintaining compliance with all PMI carriers.


•  Performs loan analyses as required by annual review process and borrower requests for higher risk loans; assists with resolution of problem loans and loss mitigation.


•  Responsible for compliance with all credit union policies and procedures and recommend changes when necessary. Also responsible for reporting and providing information a necessary to management and ALCO.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience:        At least five years of management experience in mortgage lending, processing and underwriting.

                           Experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA preferred.

                           Experience in compliance with mortgage lending regulations.

VP of Finance / Controller

Oversees Accounting Departmental functions and compiles, analyzes and organizes all financialanalysis for Gulf Winds FCU. Through strong and careful analysis this position provides recommendations to management for establishing and achieving strategic objectives. The position leads the Finance department that produces all financial analysis, and maintains databases and produces reports in a proactive manner by predicting the need for future information when creating reports and making decisions regarding the core and other systems that hold information relevant to financial analysis. Plans, directs and maintains GWFCU ALM reporting, liquidity programs, product and branch profitability, and budgeting. Interfaces with auditors and regulators. This position also leads the Accounting department to ensure GWFCU operates according to GAAP and all applicable regulations. Responsible for the design and structure of core Accounting systems such as GL’s, Loan/Share Types, and automated posting jobs.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

•  Manages both the AVP of Accounting, and a team of financial analysts to establish a system of tight internal controls and useful/actionable financial data. Works with the rest of the Senior Team to ensure credit union makes good decisions based on the best analysis available at the time, and builds the team internally to make independent informed, ethical and wise decisions that are in the best interest of the credit union and the members.

•  Oversees the management and maintenance of the credit union's ALM models and profitability, utilizing tools including ProfitStar; manages creation and updates of ALM reports with an emphasis on historical trends and projections; manages preparation of periodic reports for ALCO including ALM simulation, assumptions, peer information and analysis; ensures the integrity of ALM model's database and assumptions; maintains ALM program to meet policy requirements are met in a timely manner.

•  Oversees preparation of reports for management including key interest rate trends, IRR reports, and forecasts, loan and deposit rate shocks, product mix and analyses; develops/documents behavior models and performs what‑if scenarios and sensitivity tests.

•  Oversees development and maintenance of organizational and product profitability analysis, oversees cost assignment to products and services; maintains controls and cost allocation assumptions within the accounting model.

•  Prepares and oversees the preparation of ad‑hoc analysis relating to product development and project analyses by designing analytical and modeling methods to evaluate proposals.

•  Prepares and updates credit union peer group related financial reports. Reviews and develops controls for financial data collection and submission through the credit union's core processor programs and financial models.

•  Reviews and evaluates investment opportunities for suitability to credit union's portfolio and makes recommendations to management.

•  Analyzes monthly, quarterly and annual reports and provides analysis of the information presented. Reports can include liquidity, investment, delinquency, productions, financials, consolidation and regulatory reports.

•  Provides recommendations to management on policies, process improvements and quality controls.

•  Reviews laws and regulations that impact compliance with respect to financial functions and makes recommendations for change where appropriate.

•  Performs other job related duties as assigned.

 

Performance Measurements:

1.      Quality of the month‑end close and financial reporting process coupled with the expediency that is often required to meet Board and Management objectives.

2.      Profitability models are maintained accurately and function with integrity; reports are produced on a timely basis with up to date information.

3.      ALM model database is controlled accurately and assumptions are reliable.

4.      Performance of the Investment Portfolio, and the detailed reporting necessary to make sound decisions.

5.      Analyses performed in the areas of product development and other projects are accurate, timely, and presented in an organized manner.

7.      Evaluation of investment opportunities is sound and presented clearly and in a timely manner.

8.      Generation of a positive relationship with external/internal auditors, and examiners in the spirit of bettering the credit union to the benefit of the members.

•  Lead and direct projects; responsible for smaller projects assigned by VP of Project Management and will be in the capacity of Project Manager. Prepare project plans, charters, timelines, RFPs, and current condition assessments.

•  Fill in for VP of Project Management to manage on going active projects. Follow the defined project management methodology.

•  Perform administrative support functions; routine correspondence, meeting minutes, preparing and updating project documents, maintaining issue logs, and preparing reports.

•  Responsible for organizing, scheduling, and conducting project meetings; scheduling meeting rooms, establishing meeting logistics, sending meeting invitations, creating and sending meeting agendas, room set up. Create and deliver presentations; discovery meetings, project kick off meetings, staff meetings, senior management meetings, etc.

Experience: Two years project management experience as Project Manager, Jr. Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or similar position. Project management experience in a financial institution is preferred.

Education: 2 years of college or equivalent experience.

Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with people under challenging conditions. Demonstrates analytical, technical, and organizational skills. •  Manages and leads an applications systems development team, including planning, prioritizing, developing,  supporting, maintaining and reporting of a variety of software applications. Hires, trains, sets goals and expectations for the team.

•  Participate in short and long range planning for the department to select and utilize appropriate software, enhancements, tools, etc. to meet the evolving needs of the Credit Union and its members.

•  Directs significant special projects as required.

•  Ensures all applications team members are cross trained so service levels are maintained.

•  Ensures that in house critical systems (core, imaging, CRM, Intranet, etc.) are being used in an effective and secure manner; monitors systems performance and recommends system upgrades and enhancements.

•  Communicates operational changes to operations and training and ensures that all modifications have been tested before they are put into production.

•  Makes recommendations for cost efficiencies and enhancements to products, pricing and processes by monitoring use of credit union software applications and communicates changes, designs and documentation to supervisor and keeps supervisor informed regarding key operating issues affecting the department.

Payments and Fraud Manager

Manages the activity and direction of the Payments & Fraud department, and ensures a high level of service is maintained. Oversees the posting/maintenance of ACH, wires, Share Drafts, ODP, debit cards, and ATM transactions. Oversees maintenance of the ATM fleet. Oversees the handling of fraud cases reported by the membership and our infrastructure for protecting the member and credit unionassets. Provides insight as to the strategic direction for all of these services, and works with other departments to implement new technology, products, and processes in the field of Payments & Fraud.

•  Plans strategic direction of the department to ensure seamless integration of Payments & Fraud services into all avenues of the member experience. Strives to achieve 100% uptime of services where feasible. Plans for the future by working with the Senior Team to predict upcoming changes to Payments & Fraud, and builds department accordingly.

•  Coaches Payments & Fraud team for both short‑term and long‑term success. Sets goals which stretch the team, but are also realistic and attainable, and track with the overall success of the credit union. Ensures credit union Core Values are used in every internal and external member interaction.

•  Ensures adequate training and cross‑training within the department so that the team is comfortable in making daily decisions with minimal guidance, and that services are adequately maintained for the member when the primary owner of any task is unavailable for any reason. Cross‑training is good for the credit union and member, and individual growth is an investment in the team.

•  Directs team in the preparation of regular reports of key metrics in the areas managed by the department, and provides analysis of the information presented. Reports can include ODP, fraud, ATM, interchange, service profitability, and regulatory reports among others.

•  Provides recommendations to management on policies, process improvements and quality controls.

•  Performs other job related duties as assigned.
