ITS Applications Specialist

This position is responsible for carrying out higher level functions within the Department, with an emphasis on providing programming solutions, as prescribed by the VP and Supervisor of Information and Technology Solutions. Duties of the position may include but are not limited to research, analysis, testing, implementing, monitoring, updating/upgrading, installing, troubleshooting, planning, programming, and project management.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:


50% Coordinates with other staff to respond to team member requests and solve hardware, software, and network problems.

20% Provides assistance with projects that further the long term goals of the credit union

10% Maintains specific programs, functions, hardware, or areas within the department.

10% Maintains databases, inventories, files, and logs and user access levels

10% Performs other job related duties as assigned.


Performance Measurements:

1. Meets department standards for response to team member requests for assistance with hardware, software, or system performance improvement


2. Meets department standards for resolution, troubleshooting and assisting when hardware or software issues occur


3. Meets deadlines for completion of assigned projects / provides useful input with respect to project success and completion


4. Provides quality programming or other process improvements to increase efficiencies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

The role of this position is to provide for maximum employee engagement, and to ensure that HR and Training functions are outstandingly and consistently carried out within established Credit Union policies and guidelines and in compliance with regulations. Responsible for salary administration, employee relations, employee onboarding and orientation program, pay and benefits administration, recruitment and staffing, and administration of the training division.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:


20% Administers the Credit Union's Salary and Compensation plan, including salary structure, development of organizational chart, creation and maintenance of positions, performance evaluation program, payment systems, and reporting. Assists in preparation of annual budgets and development of merit increase plan.


20% Administers the Credit Union's benefit programs such as basic and major medical coverage, dental insurance, group life insurance, LTD, pension plans, and other benefits. Consults with and advises employees on their eligibility for these and other related benefits. Maintains benefits records and documents necessary for implementing benefit coverage. Maintains and distributes plan documents and employee communications relating to benefits. Recommends changes or additions to the program to reflect employee and Credit Union's needs. Assures compliance with all legal requirements of various employee benefit programs and prepares and files required legal reports.


15% Oversees the training function including hiring, supervision and evaluation of training coordinators, Responsible for administration and coordination of all training including technical training, developmental training, sales training, and supervisory / management training.


10% Responsible for creating, documenting, and maintaining Salary Administration and HR policies and procedures. Manages executive hiring, provides assistance with progressive disciplinary action.


10% Coordinates employee services and activities designed to increase employee engagement and build employee/organization relationships. Administers employee relations   programs, employee communications, EAP program, new employee orientation, service award programs, sponsored sports, fund raising, and social activities and food service operations. Recommends new programs or changes to existing programs.


10% Ensures that the payroll function is carried out efficiently, accurately and timely, and that documentation is retained as required.


5% Oversees the new hire and onboarding process.


5% Responsible for maintenance of all personnel files and records for the Credit Union.


5% Performs other duties as required

1. Benefit programs provide value, and are more than competitive. Turnover rate is within guidelines.

2. All programs are in compliance with applicable regulations.

Knowledge and Skills:



Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.



Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field).

Mortgage Loan Underwriter

Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a Mortgage Loan Underwriter in Pensacola, FL. The primary function of this position is to review and analyze mortgage loan requests, verify compliance with mortgage lending policy and all applicable regulations, and render credit decisions on loans.


Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reviews and evaluates information on mortgage loan documents to determine if buyer, property, and loan conditions meet regulatory standards. Analyzes documents and other information provided to determine if it validates the applicant's credit risk profile. Documents risk mitigating factors and exceptions. Makes credit decision based on information provided; documents any conditions or requirements for loan approval. Approves or rejects loan application for closing, or requests additional information, and issues denials as needed.

• Communicates any loan conditions or requirements for loan approval to originators and processing staff. Acts as information resource for MLOs and processors.

• Keeps informed of current trends, regulatory changes, and market factors affecting mortgage lending. Assists in any internal quality control reviews and/or audits.

• Performs other job related duties as assigned.


• Three to five years of similar or related experience required.

• A two year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program. (Applicable work experience may be substituted for college requirements.)

• Experience in first mortgage and equity underwriting, processing, closing procedures, and credit approval experience required.

• Demonstrated knowledge of mortgage underwriting criteria utilized by FNMA and FHLMC required.

• Knowledge of FHA, VA, and USDA underwriting criteria preferred.

• Demonstrated understanding of credit risk assessment and of complex personal financial and income statements, and mortgage loan documents required.

• Must have good communication skills.

• 10-key calculator and keyboard skills required.

Mortgage Loan Originator - Tallahassee

Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) in Tallahassee, FL. The Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) is responsible for proactively cultivating new mortgage business by marketing and promoting the credit union’s products to meet established loan quality and production goals. The MLO continually identifies, develops and maintains a professional relationship with a quality network of contacts that will serve as a recurring source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities. The MLO will manage the member’s loan request through the entire mortgage loan process from application and analysis, through loan closing while always maintaining positive client relationships with members, vendors, and referral sources.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Originates mortgage loan products to existing and prospective members by interviewing, evaluating needs, and making mortgage loan product recommendations. Analyzes initial financial information to determine best loan program for member. Submits loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval.
• Represents the credit union in the community and related functions to indentify, develop and promote additional business. Networks through professional, business, and community organizations and activities to promote credit union loan products. May present seminars to general public and real estate agents to promote additional business and community outreach.
• The incumbent will work under limited supervision usually in a credit union office but sometimes away from the office.
• Cross-sells other credit union services to meet member’s financial need.
• Track and report sales leads and loan pipeline weekly or as required by management.
• Documents loan file as required to maintain compliance with all regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.


• Three plus years of experience in mortgage lending origination with proven track record of outside sales ability.
• A high school education or GED.

I.T Applications Manager

Gulf Winds is currently seeking an IT Applications Supervisor who will have overall responsibility for managing the staff and resources dedicated to supporting and developing software applications.  Additionally, this position has responsibilities for assuring efficient and accurate development & deployment of all system changes while maintaining data integrity.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

•  Manages and leads an applications systems development team, including planning, prioritizing, developing,  supporting, maintaining and reporting of a variety of software applications. Hires, trains, sets goals and expectations for the team.

•  Participate in short and long range planning for the department to select and utilize appropriate software, enhancements, tools, etc. to meet the evolving needs of the Credit Union and its members.

•  Directs significant special projects as required.

•  Ensures all applications team members are cross trained so service levels are maintained.

•  Follows a well-developed SDLC process that produces creative solutions and enhancements to meet business needs within all systems providing efficiencies and improving functionality for all users. Matches user needs and desires to system capabilities and limitations.

•  Ensures that in house critical systems (core, imaging, CRM, Intranet, etc.) are being used in an effective and secure manner; monitors systems performance and recommends system upgrades and enhancements.

•  Communicates operational changes to operations and training and ensures that all modifications have been tested before they are put into production.

•  Makes recommendations for cost efficiencies and enhancements to products, pricing and processes by monitoring use of credit union software applications and communicates changes, designs and documentation to supervisor and keeps supervisor informed regarding key operating issues affecting the department.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
